How is this still a thing??
I know it sounds like eveything I post about is ragging on women. But Jesus, there are a lot of women alive today that make the suffragettes from the turn of the century look like goddesses.
A woman, who I know is a lesbian, whose male friends are mostly gays, but who, for the most part has always been pretty cool to me, made a Facebook post that screams "I am like all the other ignorant people who think solely in terms of sound bites and what I see on social media."
Her post? This:
This is why we choose the fkng bear. Cornell is why we choose the fkng bear. Epstein files is why we choose the fkng bear. Brock Turner is why we choose the fkng bear.
This is in response to a post about a claim that some dude was jacking off on a airplane next to a young woman, that she complained to attendants, claimed she was "trapped and forced to sit next to him" ands that they did nothing. This is one womans claim... There's no public record of charges, an arrest, or the man being identified.
Yet, like everything else these days it's a case of "every man is a pig" based on an incident, that might not have even happened. Even other men are taking up arms against men because it's the "right thing to do." Bullshit. These fucking "white knights" just want to come across like some saint in womens current view of men.
I thought the whole "bear" thing had it's 15 minutes of fame 4 years ago. But apparently not. But no, a lot of women jumped on the bandwagon of man-hating. They want to decenter men, think having a boyfriend/male companion is "embarrasing," the 4B movement, boysober and volutary celibacy, and yeah, the fucking "man vs Bear" nonsense.
Some point out that most women actually still want relationships with men. A lot of this is online talk that outpaces real behavior, and blanket suspicion of men is both unfair to the majority and likely to deepen loneliness on both sides. Maybe that is actually the case.
But I have seen it in the real world too. So it's there. I also know it isn't everyone. So of course I will not say all women. But it feels one-sided, because that post from a woman I considered friendly and open-minded, has latched on to that one-sidedness and refuses to acknowledge that, just like them, not all men are worse than the fucking bear.
